Svala is committed to using the highest-quality, vegan fabrics available to make our products. We have searched the globe to find what we believe to be the most innovative, durable and sustainable animal-friendly fabrics available. Each Svala handbag is lined with organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles and comes with an organic cotton dust bag. Below is a list of the materials that we use:
We are so excited to be one of the first brands worldwide to include Pinatex in our vegan handbag collection! This is a natural, innovative and patented new material, made from pineapple leaf fibres gathered by partner farming cooperatives in the Philippines.
Piñatex® fibres are the by-product of the pineapple harvest. This material is composed of 80% pineapple leaf fibres and 20% PLA fibres. Natural and vegan, Pinatex is sourced in the Philippines and finished in Spain. No extra land, water, fertiliser or pesticides are required to produce the raw material. No pineapples are harmed in the making of Pinatex!
Cork, the bark of the cork oak tree, is beautiful, durable and eco-friendly. The harvesting of cork is done in a sustainable manner so that no tree needs to fall or is damaged during the process. Our cork fabric is sourced from Portugal, which is known for producing the world’s most beautiful cork.
ITALIAN VEGAN LEATHER
Our vegan leather PU (polyurethane) is sourced from Italy from a factory that supplies various high-end European luxury designers. This eco-conscious factory has installed photovoltaic generators on the roofs in order to produce green energy and save Co2.
