There are few things that can stimulate and relax the body like submerging yourself in warm water, especially as the weather cools down. The benefits of taking a warm bath have been scientifically proven and help to keep your body and mind healthy and happy.
If you are feeling stressed or worn down, set aside some time some time to yourself, light some candles, turn on some music and take the time to have a bath:
- Bathing benefits your nervous system – Submerging in water helps to calm the nervous system, helping to reduce stress and anxiety and improving your mood.
- Bathing can benefit your muscles, joints and bones – Taking a warm bath can loosen up stiff muscles and joints, improve circulation and help to increase flexibility. To enhance the effects of the warm water, try adding some Epsom salts to your bath.
- Bathing cleanses and moisturizes your skin – Hot water opens up our pores, helping the body to cleanse and and detox. Also, soaking in water helps us hydrate, which we need as our bodies are composed of more than 50% water!
